Aussie shoppers might notice something a little different on their shelves over the next year, with Ginger Meggs creeping on to the matchbox designs of the iconic Redheads matches design!
To celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Australia’s favourite redhead, a series of  Redheads matchbox designs, created by current Ginger Meggs artist Jason Chatfield, will appear on shelves from November onwards.
With five different designs to choose from and collect, the first batch of these limited edition collectibles are flying off the shelves, as each package only contains ten randomly selected boxes.

The Annual Kemsley Memorial Cricket match was played last Sunday, 13th November once more at Chevalier college. A great day was had by all, raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of NSW with the traditional game between the Ginger Meggs XI and the Greenwich Good Guys.
The Ginger Meggs X1 was again victorious defeating GGG for the Kemsley Cup.
James Kemsley’s youngest son, Seb Kemsley (GM X1) won the Kemsley Clap (Fielding) award, David Tucker (from the Greenwich Good Guys) won the Kemsley Clop (bowling) (3 for 16) and Monty Callaghan (GM X1) won the Kemsley Clip (batting) with 44 runs.
We finished up raising $580 for the MND Foundation, not a bad effort!

Letters from Readers

Jason
Happy Birthday to Ginge.I am not 90 or 100 years old. But I have been a fan of Meggsie since arriving in Australia from Zimbabwe in 1994. In the 17.5 years, I have read every Ginger Meggs I could find and love the “hidden” comments. Meggsie should be compulsory reading for all new Aussies… it gives a flavour of our rich culture. Thanks for the entertainment over all these years. My favourites are those on a Billy Cart… reminds me of my youth in (Rhodesia) Zimbabwe. We called them soap box carts…. I had a few crashes!!! I also grew up on comics. Keep up the great work, and looking forward to Ginge’s 100th. Best regards Ian Shaw
